Investigators Identify Lake Norman Drowning Victim

Investigators have identified the man who was found in Lake Norman last week. Β Jonathan Herran’s body was recovered from the lake on September 2nd. Β It took the sheriff’s office several days to identify the man. Β An autopsy revealed he drown. Β No foul play was involved.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. —Β The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance identifying the body of a man found in Lake Norman this morning.

Homeowners and Fishermen alerted authorities to something suspicious floating in a Lake Norman cove around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Officials say the man is either white or hispanic, between 20 and 50 years old, and about six feet tall. Β He is described as having long dark hair and was wearing a dark colored tee shirt with green swimming trunks.

The cause of death is unknown and the man’s death is being treated as a drowning.
