Indian Trail Neighbors Still Have Concerns With Super Street Project
INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — The town of Indian Trail asked the NC DOT to host an info meeting Thursday evening. The town of Matthews did the same thing a month ago.
Many people still have concerns about a major road project.
Families living in the neighborhoods off Old Monroe Road in Indian Trail say the Super Street design will make getting in and out of their homes a hassle.
The plan would expand the two lane road into four lanes with turns lanes and U-turn bulbs, since people will not be able to make a left turn onto the street.
NC DOT went over the plans, which have been in the works since 2013, to relieve congestion between Charlotte and Union County.
Some people living in the area say it can’t happen fast enough. Many say Old Monroe Road has been known as Old Monroe Crawl for a reason and that it is in a desperate need of an upgrade.
