High pressure will continue to persist across the area through the middle of this upcoming work week. We will have plenty of sunshine, dry weather and warm temperatures in the mid-upper 80’s for much of the week. Hurricane Maria is now a category 2 hurricane with winds up to 105 mph, moving North at 9 mph. Maria is forecast to continue moving northward paralleling the U.S. East Coast, areas along the coast of the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic should continue to monitor the path. As of now, no direct impacts are expected here in Charlotte. Tropical Storm or Hurricane watches may be issued for the coast of the Carolinas over the next day.
