Police Identify Woman Killed In East Charlotte Accident

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have identified the woman killed in an accident in east Charlotte Monday afternoon.

According to officials, 35-year-old Tracy Stiles was driving westbound on Albemarle Road in a 1993 Honda Civic when she passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed and lost control. Officials say she slid across the westbound lanes, over the concrete median, and into oncoming traffic.

Stiles car was hit by a 2015 Dodge Ram pickup traveling eastbound. That driver was transported with minor injuries.

Officials say Stiles was pronounced dead on scene.

According to investigators, speed was the only contributing factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
