A cooler and drier pattern will take hold through Saturday. Today will be sunny with highs reaching the low 80s. It will get breezy this afternoon with gusts out of the northwest 30 mph in the Piedmont and 40-50 mph in the mountains. Lows will fall into the 40s and 50s tonight with a crisp start to your day tomorrow. Highs will fall back into the mid 70s Friday and Saturday — making a great forecast for all outdoor activities for the start of Memorial Day weekend. Humidity levels will begin to rise by Sunday with scattered showers and isolated rumbles of thunder possible. Memorial Day Monday will be a bit more unsettled, but severe weather is unlikely with more run of the mill storms and showers.
