CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than a dozen protests have been planned for Charlotte and surrounding areas for Saturday, June 14th.
The “No Kings” protests will take place on the same day as President Donald Trump hosts a military parade in Washington, D.C.
The military parade will mark the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army and falls on the same day as Trump’s 79th birthday.
“No Kings” organizers have more than 1,500 planned protests for June 14th across the country.
The nationwide protests come on the heels of unrest in cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago following a series of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.
The “No Kings: Naked Emperor Parade & March” will take place on Saturday, June 14th from 11am – 2pm. The event will kick off with a rally at First Ward Park, 301 East 7th Street in Charlotte, N.C.
