Six now charged in “especially violent” assault and kidnapping in Union Co.
UNION CO., N.C. – Six people are now facing charges in connection with a brutal assault and kidnapping in Indian Trail. In late February, Union County Sheriff’s deputies found a man severely beaten on Hayes Road. He was naked in 20 degree weather, and had his hands tied behind his back. Officials say the the victim had also been beaten with a gun.
After a months-long investigation, Jamaal Holley, Jackie Brown, Jr., and Kenijae Howard are all charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Deputies also charged Holley with attempted murder. Right now two suspects, Jamari Grady and Natselane Mattison are still on the run. Martell Johnson is awaiting extradition from a South Carolina jail.
Investigators say all six suspects are connected to a street gang from outside Union County.
