Guilty verdict for man accused of killing Deidre Reid

CHESTERFIELD CO., S.C. – A guilty verdict for the man accused of killing a mother of three from Pageland. On Thursday, a jury in Chesterfield County convicted Emanuel Bedford in the 2021 murder of Deidre Reid.

Bedford was Reid’s ex-boyfriend. The two were last seen together at a bus stop in Charlotte. Her SUV was later found partly underwater in a pond in Aiken, South Carolina.

Reid’s brother tells WCCB that they’re glad to get justice. He also says that the family has accepted that Bedford will never tell them what he did with Reid’s body. Bedford will spend life in prison with no parole.
