Suspect Arrested After Officer Walks In During Robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been arrested after police say he attempted to rob a convenience store Sunday morning.

CMPD Officer Woodlock entered the Circle K located at 10409 Mallard Creek Road and was met by a clerk who said there was a man with a gun in the back office.

According to the clerk, Lynch came into the store with a gun and demanded money, before forcing the female clerk into the back of the store.

When the clerk heard Officer Woodlock enter the store, she came out of the back and advised him of the suspect before leaving.

After the clerk left the store, Officer Woodlock yelled for the suspect to come out of the office, as he requested backup.

The suspect, Ronald Lynch Jr., cooperated with the command and was taken into custody.

A firearm was located in the back of the store.

Lynch Jr., 39, is charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Kidnapping.
