KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Police say a Cabarrus County teacher has been arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Investigators say they received an anonymous tip into Crime Stoppers that 31-year-old Ricky Durden Jr had a sexual relationship with a student.
After investigating, police charged Durden with four counts of sexual activity with a student. Β A spokesperson says Durden is also a coach for the girl’s track team at Jay M Robinson High School in Concord. Β He has been suspended from his job pending a school district investigation.
He has been employed with Cabarrus County Schools since August 2014. Β
