MAIDEN, NC — Police have arrested the suspect accused of setting fire to an unoccupied building back in June.
James Butler, 17, of Cherryville, NC, has been arrested and charged in relation to a fire that was set on June 5, 2017. Investigators determined that the home on West Main Street caught fire as the result of arson.
The building was unoccupied at the time, according to officials, and was under contract for sale.
Officials say Butler was arrested Wednesday for the “felony crime of Burning Certain Building; the unoccupied residence.”
