Snow showers will develop in the mountains and linger on and off through Tuesday. Most locations will receive about an inch of snow, but the highest elevations could see up to 3 inches. Partly cloudy and windy conditions are expected Tuesday with highs in the low 50s in Charlotte. Tuesday night will be very cold with temperatures dropping into low 20s, teens in the colder spots. Wednesday will be the coldest day of the week with highs struggling into the 40s despite abundant sunshine. Mostly clear skies are expected throughout the remainder of the week with below average temperatures
