GREENSBORO, NC — A Charlotte man who pleaded guilty to one count of producing child pornography will spend the next 25 years in prison.
48-year-old Stephen Aydelotte pleaded guilty on September 14th. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment followed by a lifetime of supervised release.
According to court documents, Aydelotte told officials in February 2017 that he had taken pornographic pictures of himself and a minor in High Point in 2012. Investigators were able to recover those photos from his phone.
Aydolette then admitted to molesting two underage girls in Utah in 1989.
Prosecutors did recommend Aydolette get a degree of leniency in his sentence due to his voluntary confession of the criminal acts. Officials say if he hadn’t come forward, the crimes may have never come to light.
