MONROE, NC — Officials say a man has died following an industrial accident Tuesday afternoon at Charlotte Pipe & Foundry.
Monroe Fire and Police responded to the call at the factory on Old Charlotte Highway. Officials say one worker was taken to CMC-Union with serious injuries, and was later pronounced dead. The accident is still under investigation.
Chief Bryan Gilliard says, “This is a terrible loss, especially this time of year. Our hearts go out to the family and coworkers who are affected by this tragedy.”
The victim’s name has not yet been released at this time.
