Deputies: Three Arrested After Jeep Stolen With Toddler Inside In Burke County
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies say three people were arrested after a Jeep was stolen from a gas station that had a toddler inside.
The incident reportedly happened just before 2pm Sunday at the Jack-B-Quick/Marathon Station at I-40 in Icard.
Deputies say the Jeep was stolen from the convenience store while the victim was paying for gas. The stolen vehicle had a 14-month-old child in it during the theft.
The stolen vehicle was located a few minutes later across the road from the convenience store at Burger King with the child still in the vehicle unharmed, according to a news release.
Deputies say an interview with a witness at the scene help deputies track down the alleged suspects in Newton. Nolan Weaver, Dallas Hopkins and Christy Gonzalez-Rodriquez were all taken into custody without incident.
Weaver has been charged with 2nd degree kidnapping, larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods and larceny after breaking and entering. He was given a $100,000 secured bond.
Hopkins and Gonzalez-Rodriquez were both charged with accessory after the fact.
