Suspect Charged In January Shooting That Left 3, Including Child, Injured

Police arrested 21-year-old Geneva Caldwell in Winston Salem on Wednesday in connection to a shooting on January 9th.

Caldwell is charged with four counts of Attempted Murder, three counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property, and Discharging a Firearm in City Limits.

She is being held under a $2 million secured bond.

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating after three people, including a 9-year-old child were shot in Statesville.

Police responded to a shooting call Tuesday morning on Caldwell Street, and say they found a home that had been hit by several rounds of gunfire. A short time later, the staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital reported two men and a 9-year-old girl arriving with gunshot wounds.

The little girl was airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition. The two men were treated for less serious injuries.

Police have not yet released any other information on the victims or possible suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
