Persons Of Interest Wanted In Connection To Hickory IHOP Murder

HICKORY, NC — Police are looking for two white males in connection to a murder late Monday night at a local IHOP.

Around 11:56pm, officers responded to a injured person call at the IHOP on HWY 70 SE. When they arrived, they found 26-year-old Rafael Cerda-Ramirez, of Marion, shot in the parking lot.

Cerda-Ramirez was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center for treatment, but later died from his injuries.

Police say the two white males are being sought as ‘persons of interest.’ They are believed to be driving a small burgundy car.

Anyone who may have been at the IHOP between the hours of 10:30pm and midnight, or anyone else who may have any information, is asked to call Hickory Police at 828-261-2616 to speak with Investigator K. Craig.
