A Cold Chilly Evening, With Sunshine Returning
Below freezing temperatures overnight
We’re settling into a calmer stretch of weather tonight, but the chill will remain. Dry, cold air moves in and temperatures will fall fast after sunset. Overnight lows will range in the upper 20s and low 30s, allowing for some slick spots especially across the high country.
By Friday, our next system starts to slide in. The afternoon brings our next chance for rain, but it’s the morning hours that have my attention. Temperatures may be just cold enough to squeeze out a few snowflakes especially in the mountains. Nothing major, but yes, a quick little mix is possible. And anytime we’re flirting with freezing temperatures and precipitation, we also can’t ignore the chance for some icy spots, particularly on mountain roads and bridges.
A little rain may linger into early Saturday before we dry out again, but don’t expect a warm–up behind it. Our highs stay stuck in the lower 50s all the way into next week. Winter is settling in!
