Dreary evening, drying out into the weekend

Clouds and the chill stick around this weekend

Tonight, will remain on the cold side with increasing clouds still in place. Most areas remain in the lower to mid 30s and we will continue to dry out, but it won’t be the best night for Friday evening plans.

The clouds stick around throughout the weekend, but most locations will remain dry through Sunday night. Highs will stay in the 40s across the Piedmont and Foothills as afternoon temperatures are near 40Β° in the High Country. Medium-range models are showing a few scattered showers sweeping through the Carolinas on Monday, but they likely won’t add up to much as we kick off the new week. The mercury will slowly, but steadily, rise into the mid-50s by Wednesday before another cold front shuts the door on any prolonged warm-up.
