Windy Monday with a big cooldown overnight

High Wind Warning in effect from 1 pm Monday until noon Tuesday. Wind gusts up to 65 mph possible across the higher elevations. Downed trees and powerlines are possible.

Forecast:
Monday: A foggy start to the day with clouds and isolated showers holding tight through the morning. Clouds will quickly clear early afternoon with temperature falling after around 11 am. It will be a windy day with gusts in the mountains up to 65 mph and gusts in the piedmont up to 35 mph. Winds calm down in the piedmont through the evening, but stay windy through Tuesday in the mountains.

Tuesday: A freezing start with overnight lows in the mid 20s. Sunny skies with highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Another freezing start with sunny skies. Highs top out near average, in the low 50s. Wind gusts up to 20 mph. The evening will be cold and partly cloudy with overnight lows falling just above freezing.

New Year’s Day: Sunny. Highs in the mid 50s.
