Windy, dry conditions make Mint Hill house fire worse

MINT HILL, N.C. – Mint Hill Fire officials say discarded smoking materials started a house fire on Monday that was then fueled by heavy winds. The fire broke out Monday afternoon on Blair Road. Officials say the flames burned through a detached garage, and charred a car. It also burned the side of the house and the attic. With current dry and windy conditions, officials urge everyone to use extreme caution when outdoors.
