Man Wanted For Placing Skimmer On Bank ATMs

MATTHEWS, NC — Police are trying to identify the person responsible for placing a skimmer on a bank ATM Saturday morning.

Police say the skimmer was reported around 4:34pm at the First Citizens Bank on Matthews Township Parkway. Around 6:59 that same morning, police say surveillance showed a white male driving a silver Chrysler Town and Country van attaching the device.

Investigators believe that same man also installed a skimmer on the ATM at the First Citizens Bank on N. Indian Trail Road in Indian Trail that same day, according to officials.

Anyone who may have used these ATM’s and finds discrepancies with their account should contact their bank immediately. A report should also be filed with the respective agency:
