1 person dead after being struck by train

One person is dead after they were hit by a train in south Charlotte on Friday night.

That happened along Old Pineville Road around 7:30 p.m.

There is no word on the identity of the person killed or what led up to that crash. CMPD is only saying that it was a pedestrian who was killed.

Police are investigating the nature of the crash.
