Wilson’s World: Supporting the MDA at Harris Teeter in South End
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at Harris Teeter in South End this morning where he met up with William, a young man with a lot of courage and the misfortune of cramming a large Cadbury Cream Egg in his mouth all at once. Not a good idea.
William is only 11 years old and has been diagnosed with MD. But William doesn’t let that stop him. He has had the opportunity to attend the MDA summer camp and have fun enjoying being a kid.
On March 1st, Harris Teeter launched their Campaign to Support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Cashiers will be asking shoppers to donate $1, $3, or $5 at the checkout to support MDA. All of the money raised by Harris Teeter for the MDA will stay in the Charlotte area to continue its mission of finding treatments and cures for neuromuscular diseases, including ALS and other related life-threatening diseases. These donations also help kids with MDA attend summer camp at no cost to the family.
To find out more about the MDA, how you can donate, help or volunteer go to their website at mda.org/office/charlotte.
