Rowan County Deputies Search Home After Complaints Of Drug, Gang Activity

SALISBURY, NC — Deputies made two arrests Tuesday after searching a home where residents complained possible drug and gang activities were taking place.

68-year-old Norman Blackwell and 31-year-old Christina Loflin were arrested at the home on Gheen Road. Deputies say evidence of on-going drug dealing and drug use were found inside the home, as well as a small amount of cocaine.

Detectives say Loflin, who does not live at the residence, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Parole Violation charge is pending.

Blackwell faces multiple charges including Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep, Store, and Sell Controlled Substances, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Deputies say Blackwell already has a long criminal history.

Detectives say the home itself has a history of criminal activity as well. On February 9, 2018, 21-year-old Gregory Yarborough was shot and killed inside the same house. 22-year-old Taedrin Sanders, of Kannapolis, was arrested the following day for his murder.
