STATESVILLE, N.C. — Deputies say they arrested a Statesville man for raping a 14-year-old girl.
Investigators say James Shoemaker, 34, sexually assaulted the child between August 2017 and January 2018 at various residences where the suspect lived during those times.
Based on the information gathered during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain multiple felony arrest warrants on Shoemaker.
He was arrested on March 7th and charged with three counts of felony statutory rape of a child less than 15 by an adult. On March 8th, investigators also charged him with two counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child under 15 years of age.
Shoemaker is in jail under a $2M bond.
