CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Reginald Johnson will replace Chief John Hannan, who retired back in August, as the newest Fire Chief for Charlotte.
Many critics said Hannan, who spent nearly four decades on the job, created a hostile culture within the department and mishandled the firing of a whistle blower that led to a more than million dollar pay out.
Johnson is being described as open-minded and progressive and will be starting the job on April 30th.
