Wilson’s World: Previewing Saturday’s Charlotte Storm Water Services’ “The Big Spring Clean”
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson is joined by Deania Russo of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services as they get ready for Saturday’s ‘The Big Spring Clean‘. There are tons of trash that has been thrown away in local streams and lakes. Each year, about 500 volunteers remove an average of 10 tons of this trash! Volunteers have fun, make a big difference, and learn the importance of taking care of our local waterways.
The event runs from 9am until 1pm this Saturday, March 24th. It is a family event but children under 14 must have be accompanied by an adult and youth under 18 will need to have a signed waiver. Wear your old clothes and dirty boots! All of the supplies as well as snacks and water will be supplied.
Check out the Storm Water website HERE for information on the staffed locations where cleaning will take place and to register to participate.
