IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A student at North Iredell High School has been charged with writing a threat on a bathroom wall.
Logan Fisher, 16, has been charged with one count of Felony False Report Concerning Mass Violence on Educational Property. Deputies say a threat about shooting up the school was found written on a bathroom wall in the school’s “B” building Wednesday.
Additional security was assigned to the school Thursday as a precaution. Investigators eventually identified Fisher as a possible suspect and brought him in for questioning.
During the interview, deputies say Fisher indicated that the threat was merely a “bad joke.”
“We have said time and again, we will not tolerate threats to our students or our schools,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a statement. “In less than 24 hours of the report, we have an arrest in this case, the investigators did a great job and I want to thank the school and the administration for working with us to make this investigation move rapidly, we will continue to aggressively go after those who make these false reports.”
