DA To Seek Death Penalty Against Erica Parsons’ Adoptive Father

SALISBURY, N.C. — The DA’s Office says they plan on seeking the death penalty against Sandy Parsons.  He is accused of killing his adoptive daughter, Erica.

Erica was first reported missing in 2013 but investigators believe she was really missing since 2011.  Sandy Parsons and his wife, Casey, were both in federal prison on fraud charges before they were officially charged with Erica’s murder.

Sandy helped investigators find Erica’s remains buried in a shallow grave on Sandy’s family’s property in South Carolina.

Court records and testimony showed Erica was beaten and tortured while living at the Parsons’ home.  Sandy and Casey are both facing first degree murder, felony child abuse inflicting serious injury, felony concealment of death and felony obstruction of justice charges.
