Firefighter injured battling 2-alarm fire in south Charlotte

A firefighter was injured while battling a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in south Charlotte on Saturday night.

Around 7 p.m., firefighters were called to the 8000 block of Shorewood Drive to a structure on fire. A second alarm was triggered.

The fire was brought under control in an hour and 10 minutes.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene and later released. No other injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is aiding the displaced occupants. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
