Police: Missing woman’s body found, extreme cold temps and alcohol contributed to death

CONCORD, N.C. – The body of a missing 18-year-old woman has been found. Concord Police say Yadiria Castro was reported missing by her parents Sunday morning, when she didn’t come home after a night out with a friend. Castro was last seen leaving her friend’s house on Pine Street NW on Saturday around 10:30 at night. She was reportedly intoxicated.

Officers searched Sunday afternoon and evening. They resumed their search Monday morning. That’s when they found her body about half a mile away from her friend’s home near Academy Avenue NW. Investigators believe alcohol and freezing temperatures contributed to Castro’s death. They do not suspect any foul play, but they continue to investigate.
