Airline Strands Hundreds Of Passengers In Mexico

A budget airline is scrambling to make good for hundreds of passengers it stranded in Mexico and told to find their own way home.

Sun Country Airlines is based in Minnesota.
The airline canceled dozens of return flights when a blizzard hit Minneapolis over the weekend.
But Sun Country only offers seasonal flights to Mexico and two of the canceled flights were the last of the season.
Passengers say the airline notified them with an email.

Abby Pettit and her family were vacationing in Cabo San Lucas.
“The fact that they thought it was okay to send an email telling everybody to find your own way home I guess to me that doesn’t seem right,” Pettit said.

Sun Country says it would be forced to cancel more flights if it sent a plane to pick up the stranded passengers.
The airline is now offering to refund some of their travel expenses.
