CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have arrested two suspects in connection to an armed robbery at a Verizon Wireless store on Northlake Commons Parkway Wednesday evening.

According to police, the robbery happened around 6:33pm when employees say two armed suspects entered the store wearing masks and demanding property. The suspects took off in a silver 2018 Ford Explorer, police say, but ran from the vehicle on foot when police tried to confront them on Margaret Turner Road.

K-9 units were called to the area, but were unable to locate the suspects at that time.

A short time later, CMPD says the suspects were seen entering a home on Hathaway Hills Drive. A helicopter unit responded to the area, and say the suspects were seen carrying items into the home before leaving in a white Hyundai Elantra.

Officer quickly located the suspects’ vehicle and proceeded to chase them onto Montana Drive when they refused to stop. The chase came to an end when the suspects crashed into another vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody without further incident. The passenger tried to run from officers but was quickly apprehended.

The occupants of the vehicle hit by the suspects, which included an infant, were not injured.

Police say the occupants of the house on Hathaway Hills Drive were also taken in for questioning. All of the items stolen during today’s robbery have been recovered.

The names of the suspects and their charges have not yet been released. This is an ongoing investigation. Check back for updates.
