Lincoln County couple arrested after child exposed to narcotics, deputies say

LINCOLNTON, N.C. –  A Lincoln County couple is facing charges after their 19-month-old child was exposed to narcotics, according to the sheriff’s office.

An investigation began after deputies said they received information that a child in the emergency department had tested positive for narcotics. Before deputies arrived at the hospital, the couple, Alyssa Woody and Brandon Treadway, allegedly left with the child.

Shortly after, Woody and Treadway were arrested following a traffic stop near Car Farm Road in Lincolnton. They have been charged with felony negligent child abuse and received no bond.

The child was transported to the hospital related to the narcotics exposure and is expected to make a full recovery, deputies said.
