CMPD hands out 29 charges in operation targeting reckless dirt bike riders
CHARLOTTE, N.C. βΒ CMPD conducted an operation Saturday targeting reckless dirt bike riders, resulting in one arrest and 29 charges.
The enforcement, called βOperation QC Roadway Safety Initiative,β focused on those driving dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles recklessly on city streets. Throughout the operation, officers from several divisions across Charlotte responded to calls about individuals driving recklessly on ATVs and dirt bikes.
Saturdayβs operation resulted in one arrest, one ATV seized, two firearms seized, seven traffic stops, and 29 charges.

- Felony Flee to Elude Arrest
- Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine
- Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana
- Carrying Concealed Weapons
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm
- Resist, Delay or Obstruct Public Officer
- Driving While License Revoked
- No Operator License
- Hit and Run
- Noise Ordinance Violation
- Expired Registration
- Failure to Stop for a Traffic Control Signal
- Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign
- Speeding
- Aggressive Driving
