Law enforcement increases presence at middle school after threat in South Carolina

CHESTERFIELD CO, .S.C. – The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office increased it’s presence at New Heights Middle School on Thursday.

The move comes after a student made threatening statements during class on Wednesday.

The School Resource Officer was notified, and the student was removed from class.

A threat assessment was conducted, and school officials say there is no active threat to the school.

New Heights Middle School principal did sent out a letter to parents, and posted a statement online.
