NC Governor pushes for raises for law enforcement officials
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina Governor Josh Stein is pushing for raises for law enforcement officials across the state. Speaking at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte on Thursday, the governor said his “critical needs budget” includes those raises for state troopers, correctional officers, and other public safety professionals.
Stein says, “Saving lives is what heroes do. That’s the kind of thing that so many of our state law enforcement officers do on a daily and weekly basis. Just as they step up to protect and serve us, so must we step up to support them.”
Governor Stein has been calling for lawmakers in Raleigh to pass his $1.4 billion “critical needs budget” while state legislators continue to work on a full spending plan.
