Hornets set sellouts record at Spectrum Center

There’s still a few weeks left in the 2025-26 NBA season but the Charlotte Hornets have already broken two Spectrum Center attendance records.

So far this season, the Hornets have had 17 total sellouts and seven-consecutive sellouts, both are team records. The records were set Thursday against the Orlando Magic when the Hornets retired Dell Curry’s No. 30 jersey at halftime.

The previous records of 16 sellouts and six-consecutive sellouts were set during the 2022-23 season.

“We are incredibly grateful to our fans throughout the Carolinas for helping us reach these milestones,” said Hornets Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston. “Their passion and energy have fueled our team and created one of the most exciting home‑court environments in the NBA. This new sellout record reflects their unwavering support and the unforgettable atmosphere they bring to Spectrum Center every night — it truly is a shared achievement between our fans, our city, our partners, and our organization.”

The Hornets are averaging 18,400 fans per game, a 7% increase compared to last season. The attendance increase is partially fueled by the team’s on-court performance, as the team has gone on multiple win streaks since January.

Charlotte’s nine-game win streak in January and February was the team’s longest win streak since 1997-98 and was the second-longest in franchise history.

The Hornets are in the middle of a seven-game homestand. Home games the rest of season include matchups against multiple playoff teams, including the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons.

Charlotte sits 10th in the Eastern Conference at 36-34. If the standings hold, the Hornets will be in the play-in tournament for the first time since 2022.
