Deadly house fire under investigation in Stanly County

One person has died after a fire in Stanly County.

Investigators say it happened just after 6 a.m. Saturday morning at a home on Brooks Road. Crews had to bring in tankers due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area.

A body was later found inside the home. A firefighter was also struck by a live power line, but was not hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
