CMPD investigating stabbing death in southwest Charlotte neighborhood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating a homicide on Maple Shade Lane in southwest Charlotte. Officers say a man was stabbed to death at a home just after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.

So far, there’s no word on what led up to that violence, but neighbors say the people that live there are generally very quiet. Claudia Burgos says, “This is a very quiet neighborhood. They are very quiet, they are very quiet. Especially the guys. I’m so surprised, so surprised, because they don’t talk to anybody, barely they say ‘hey.'”

CMPD says a person of interest is in custody. Right now, no charges have been filed.
