WATCH: Viewer Video Shows Tractor Trailer Engulfed In Flames On I-77 In North Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — The northbound lanes of I-77 were shutdown Friday after a tractor trailer caught fire just north of Charlotte.

The fire happened around 12:41pm at mile marker 13 near Sunset Road. More than 30 firefighters from multiple departments responded to the scene. Officials say no injuries were reported.

Viewer cell phone video sent in to WCCB shows the truck fully engulfed in flames before crews arrived. Watch below:

The northbound lanes were closed for several hours as fire and hazmat crews worked to clear the scene.

Officials say the right lane is still closed near US-21, but is expected to reopen by 11pm.
