Man charged in deadly Matthews bowling alley shooting

A man turned himself in after a deadly shooting at a bowling alley in Matthews, according to the Matthews Police Department.

It happened just before 1 a.m. at the Lucky Strike bowling alley located off Brigman Road. Police said they received a report of someone there with a gun and that the caller said someone was shooting.

Upon arrival, police located 43-year-old Travis Lock unresponsive in the parking lot with a suspected gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police said a dispute between multiple individuals began inside the bowling alley before it escalated in the parking lot.

The suspect, 48-year-old Ray Teasley, allegedly fled the scene before police arrived but turned himself in on Sunday. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter.

Teasley remains in custody at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
