CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department teamed up with the FBI for Operation Queen City Safe on Thursday, March 26.
The multi-agency effort focused on improving public safety in the center city for hot spot areas including Romare Bearden Park, First Ward Park, and Third Ward Park.
Eighteen people were arrested, and 11 guns were seized after police conducted 170 traffic stops in Uptown Charlotte.
Along with the arrests and seizure of multiple firearms, officers said they issued dozens of citations, found nearly three pounds of drugs, and recovered more than $1,000 in cash.
