Small plane crash reported at Lincoln County airport
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – A small plane crashed near an airport in Lincoln County, according to the Lincolnton Fire Department.
It happened Friday afternoon in a field near the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Regional Airport in Iron Station, North Carolina.
Two pilots were on board at the time. The plane took off but didn’t reach optimal flying power and crashed down in a field just past the runway, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
One person was transported to Atrium Main in Charlotte with a head injury. They are awake and alert. No other injuries were reported.
The crash is under investigation.
