Citizens’ Complaints Lead To Iredell County Drug Bust

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. —  A man has been arrested on drug charges following a two month investigation stemming from citizens’ complaints in Mooresville.

According to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell, in March of 2018, citizens in the Regency Road area expressed their concern about suspected drug activity at “all hours of the night” at the residence located at 160 Regency Road in Mooresville.

An investigation determined that deputies had been dispatched to the address several times and the resident David Stikeleather, 60, had been arrested for assaulting deputies and emergency personnel.

Narcotics detectives used surveillance to gather evidence showing David Stikeleather was selling illegal drugs and on Wednesday May 23, 2018, detectives executed a search warrant at 160 Regency Road.

The search yielded four pounds of marijuana, along with 116 grams of marijuana“Wax”, two sets of digital scales, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), prescription pill bottles containing a variety of narcotic pills not prescribed to the David Stikeleather, and over $20,000 in cash.

The street value of the seized illegal drugs was approximately $30,000.

David Reid Stikeleather was arrested and charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana Wax, Felony Possession Schedule I for the LSD, Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance.

He was given a 125,000.00 dollars secured bond.

Stikeleather’s criminal history includes Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintain a Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Controlled Substance, DWI level 5, and Simple Assault.
