WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Obama has ordered 3,000 U.S. military personnel to battle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.  The troops will build clinics, train health workers and deliver medical supplies.  President Obama made the announcement after visiting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta Tuesday.

Meanwhile, recovered Ebola victim, Dr. Kent Brantly with Samaritan’s Purse, testified Tuesday about the outbreak at a Senate hearing.  “The response has remained sluggish and unacceptably out of step with… with the scope and the size of the problem that is now before us,” he said.

The World Health Organization says the virus has killed at least 2,400 people.  Nearly 5,000 have been infected with Ebola.
