Local Chef to compete on Food Network’s Chopped

CHARLOTTE, NC — A Charlotte Chef is stepping into the national spotlight.

Chef Angelique Robinson, owner and executive chef or Kuro Mama, will appear on Chopped, airing Tuesday at 9 p.m. on the Food Network.

Kuro Mama blends Afro-American and Japanese influences, with a focus on culture and connection through food.

During our Tasty Tuesday segment, Robinson also highlighted tamagoyaki, a traditional Japanese rolled omelet known for its slightly sweet flavor and delicate, layered texture.

The moment is especially meaningful for Robinson, who is sharing the experience with her daughter Clementine, an inspiration behind her culinary journey.

Robinson will also host a live viewing party in Charlotte to celebrate the debut.
