24-year-old man accused of raping, murdering 19-year-old girl in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested the man accused of killing a teenager in east Charlotte.

24-year-old Thomaz Hamilton is charged with first degree murder and first degree rape. It comes after investigators say 19-year-old Isabella Stroupe was found dead May 1st on Yateswood Drive off Albemarle Road.

Hamilton was arrested today by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team.
