UPDATE: More Than A Dozen Victims Claim They Were Assaulted By Charlotte Doctor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say 14 more victims have come forward claiming they were victimized by a Charlotte doctor. Β That brings the total number of accusers to 16.
On Tuesday, Dr. Fidelis Edosomwan was arrestedΒ for sexually assaulting two patients in east Charlotte.Β
Investigators say the first incident happened when the victim went to Edosomwan’s medical facility, Americare, on Milton Road near The Plaza for a medical examination on January 2nd. Β The victim claims Edosomwan sexually assaulted her during the examination. Β
Another victim, claims she went to an Americare on West Sugar Creek Road near North Tryon on January 14th. Β During the examination, the victim claims she was also sexually assaulted. Β
Police arrested and charged Edosomwan with two counts of 2nd degree sexual offense and three counts of sexual battery. Β Detectives are conducting interviews and consulting with the District Attorney’s Office to see if additional charges will be added.
Edosomwan is out of jail on bond. Β He’s been ordered to stop practicing while police investigate.
